Sinhalese Cultural Forum Members Night & Annual Christmas Get-together

Sinhalese Cultural Forum Members Night & Annual Christmas Get-together was very successfully held on the 12th December 2009 at the Don Moore Community Centre with our Consul General Mr Dayasiri Fernando attending as the Chief Guest. This is an annual event organised by the Sinhalase Cultural Forum for the Members and well wishers. The night rightfully belonged to the children. The carol presentation by the Parramatta and Blacktown Sinhala Language Schools were very well received by the audience. Santa arrived with a lot of pandemonium and eventually managed to distribute the much awaited presents to the kids. There were plenty of fun activities for the children. A special performance by the Tharuna Youth Group and a carol presentation by adults trained by versatile Priyani Ganewatte made the Christmas atmosphere very real. Little Dilmi’s song “Akuru Maki Na” was a special treat to the audience. The music by Redemtion was very pleasing as expected. The SCF wished to thank the local artists who beautifully performed to make the event a success. In the end everyone was dancing to the Baila session by Redemtion. Organisers reluctantly had to stop dancing to finish the show.
