Sinhalese Cultural Forum
of NSW is a Community Organization initiated in 1991 by a group of
dedicated members from Sydney, interested in maintaining the
Sinhalese cultural links with Sri Lanka.
Our main objective is to provide a common meeting ground for persons
of Sinhalese origin and for others who have an interest in the Sinhala
Language and the Sinhalese Culture living in New South Wales.
We work for the preservation, promotion and fostering of the
cultural heritage of the Sinhalese people, and to to work for the
advancement of the persons of Sinhalese origin residing in New South
Wales by providing opportunities for all members of the Sinhala
Community to understand, appreciate and value their ancestral
culture as depicted in all forms of literature and fine-arts.
Our organisation is actively involved in the advancement,
preservation and to perpetuate and transmit the Sinhalese cultural
values and traditions in a multicultural society in Australia.
We have community programs organized throughout the year, the
festivals organized in April are attracting the attention of
thousands of people. It has become a tradition now to celebrate
Sihnalese New Year in grand fashion in Sydney.
All our activities are well supported by a large team of dedicated
members and are very well attended. we are operating as four teams
to streamline and better manage our program throughout the year.
